Jesus Is God’s Amen - Today’s SJDD Devotional
“All the promises of God find their Yes in him.”
2 Corinthians 1:20
This one is such a good reminder that Jesus is the reason we can trust every promise God has made.
When God makes a promise, Jesus is the confirmation. He is the Yes. He is the proof that God means what He says. That’s why prayer matters so much. Prayer is where we take God’s promises seriously and respond back with our own “Amen.”
God says Yes to us through Christ.
We say Amen back to God through prayer.
I love that.
It means prayer is not just throwing words into the air and hoping something sticks. It’s responding to a faithful God who has already spoken. It’s agreeing with His character. Trusting His promises. Leaning on what is already true because of Jesus.
Sometimes life feels uncertain and noisy, and it’s easy to wonder if God will actually come through. But this verse pulls everything back into focus. In Jesus, God has already said Yes to every promise He intends to keep. Our job is to bring those promises back to Him in prayer and say, Amen. Yes, Lord. I trust You.
Prayer
Jesus, thank You for being God’s Yes to every promise I need. Help me pray with confidence, not because I have it all together, but because You are faithful. Teach me to trust what You have said and to answer with a real Amen from my heart. Amen.
