📖 History / Origin
The catalytic converter was developed in the 1970s as governments introduced stricter vehicle emission regulations to combat air pollution. It was pioneered by engineer Eugene Houdry, whose research into catalytic technology laid the foundation for modern emission control systems. Today, catalytic converters are standard equipment in most gasoline and diesel vehicles worldwide, playing a vital role in reducing automotive pollution.
