When you hire, what’s the #1 “green flag” you look for that isn’t on a resume?

Definitely personality. I want to make sure they are a good fit with the camp (personality) and tour (skill set). I also ask how they handle a situation when something goes down before a show to see how they handle stress under pressure fixing issues. We all hope it never happens but we need to be prepared.

Work for a FOH/SE/RF/COMMS

Hi all!

Not sure about the EU market on here, but worth a shot!

I’m looking for touring opportunities this year. Preferably in the EU, but outside EU wouldn’t be an issue.

I’m doing mostly local (NL) shows and tours right now, but I’m looking to expand. Mainly on FOH/SE duties, but I’m still doing some one off major RF/Comms gigs.

Hit me up if you’re interested and let’s talk details!

Young Engineer, Looking to Learn

Hello! My name is Sam, and I'm a younger engineer with about 3-4 years in live audio professionally.

I wanted to post here, just to introduce myself and say how thankful I am for access to such an awesome community.

I am leaving my semi-full-time job as PM/FOH for a local medium-sized church in my area to go full-time freelance.

Over the past year and a half, I have started working with local production companies doing a mix of corporate and entertainment gigs in the state as an A2, mainly and a little bit as an A1.

I am excited to cut my teeth more in this next year and learn as much as possible. I would love to get a taste of touring soon to see if that lifestyle will be a part of my career.

Any advice or ideas would be most welcome.
