Six Ways Jesus Fought Depression

It’s been a few days since I last posted. Honestly, there’s been a lot going on. The schedule’s been nonstop, and somewhere in the middle of it all, I’ve been feeling a bit overwhelmed, emotionally, mentally, even spiritually.

That’s why today’s podcast really met me where I’m at. It walked through how Jesus handled deep sorrow the night before the cross, not with denial, not with fake positivity, but with honesty, community, and prayer.

He brought his closest friends with him. He opened up to them. He asked them to stay and pray. He poured his heart out to the Father. He surrendered to God’s will. And then, He focused on what was waiting beyond the pain, the joy set before Him.

There’s something powerful in knowing that even Jesus felt crushed, and He didn’t hide it. He invited others in. He talked to God about it. And He held on.

If you’ve been feeling heavy, like you’re pushing through show after show with something lingering in the background, you’re not alone. And it’s not weakness to feel that. The fight is choosing not to give up, to do what Jesus did.

You don’t have to do it alone either. If you want to talk or pray, I’m here. Let’s walk this out together.

Matthew 26:37

“And taking with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, he began to be sorrowful and troubled.”

Prayer:

Jesus, thank You for showing us what it looks like to be honest in our sorrow and faithful in the fight. When the weight feels like too much, help us not to shut down or isolate. Remind us that You get it. Help us open up, reach out, pray hard, and fix our eyes on the joy You’ve promised. Give us strength for the next step. Amen.
