Today’s SJDD Podcast thoughts
Great message this morning.
Sometimes the days blend together out here, one city after the next, one show after another. It can feel like everything is about the next gig, the next schedule, the next thing we need to make happen. But this verse is a reminder that there’s something bigger and better waiting for us. A better country. A city designed and built by God Himself.
It’s crazy to think that God isn’t ashamed to be called our God. It’s even wilder to think He might actually be proud to be associated with us. And it’s not because of how hard we’re working or how well we’re holding it all together. It’s because of what we desire, that deep down, even with all the noise and movement, we’re still longing for something better. We’re still holding on to the hope of what He’s promised.
The city He’s prepared isn’t just some far-off idea. It’s the promise that every mile we travel and every moment we give matters because of where we’re going and who we belong to.
Prayer:
God, thank You for the promise of a better country, a home that’s built by You. Help me today to set my heart on what lasts, not just on what’s right in front of me. Thank You for not being ashamed to be called my God. Help me to live in a way that makes much of Your promises and brings You honor. Amen.
