Who Are the Children of Abraham?
Genesis 12:3
“In you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”
This one really got me thinking today. It’s crazy to realize that God’s promise to Abraham wasn’t just about his family or his land. It was about all of us. People from every background, every country, every story all tied together by faith.
Abraham didn’t see how it was all going to play out. He just knew God was trustworthy, even when it didn’t make sense. And because he trusted God, he was willing to give up what meant the most to him, believing that God could bring life out of the dead ends.
That kind of faith is what brings us into the same family. It’s not about where we’re from or what we’ve done. It’s about believing that God is who He says He is and that He keeps His promises. Obedience isn’t about proving ourselves. It’s about showing that we really do trust Him.
That’s the kind of faith I want. The kind that holds on even when the future feels unclear. The kind that says, “God, I’m with You, no matter what.”
Prayer:
God, thank You for making me part of something so much bigger than me. Thank You that I don’t have to earn my place with You. Help me to trust You like Abraham did, to walk in faith even when it feels hard or confusing. Show me how to lean into Your promises today and live like they’re true, because they are.
Amen.
