God Rejoices to Do You Good -SJDD Devotion

Jeremiah 32:40–41

“I will make with them an everlasting covenant… I will rejoice in doing them good.”

Some days on the road feel heavy. Long travel days. Missed sleep. Pressure. Moments where you wonder if things will actually work out the way you hope.

That’s why this promise is so powerful.

God doesn’t just decide to do good to His people. He actually rejoices in doing it. It brings Him joy. Think about that for a second. The Creator of everything isn’t reluctantly helping you along the way. He delights in it.

Sometimes we believe God will help us, but we secretly think He’s a little annoyed about it. Like we’re asking too much. Like we’re inconveniencing Him.

Jeremiah says the opposite. God takes pleasure in doing good for those who trust Him. And not just occasionally. The promise says He will not turn away from doing good to them.

That doesn’t mean every day feels easy. Even Abraham had moments where things looked impossible. But he chose to believe that God’s promises were stronger than the circumstances in front of him.

Sometimes faith looks like staring at a difficult moment and saying, “This isn’t bigger than God. And God actually loves to show up for His people.”

If you’re having one of those days where hope feels thin, this is a good promise to carry with you.

Something to take with you today

When things feel discouraging, remind yourself of this simple truth:

God doesn’t just help His people.

He enjoys helping His people.

Prayer

Father, thank You that You are not distant or reluctant. Thank You that it brings You joy to do good to Your children. When circumstances feel overwhelming, help me remember Your heart toward me. Strengthen my faith to trust that You are working for good even when I can’t see it yet. Guard that small spark of faith in my heart and grow it into confidence in You. Amen.
