Looking to expand my line of work spring/summer 2026 (Netherlands)
Hi All,
For upcoming spring/summer & future I’m looking to expand my work area.
20+ years experience (started as musicians, A3 and bar sound).
Running my own shop as vendor/tech director/designer -EDIT- also as touring engineer -EDIT- for live music theater tours.
And as a Freelancer I run monitors/audio chief for festivals, A1 corporate, RF etc
Done a fair share of “Showbands” (coverbands with way too much production), occasional subbing at club gigs for national acts.
But I want to expand more towards working for/with an Artist/Band on club/festival runs.
Anyone got some ideas?
Thanks

Love this post, Robert, you’ve already got the hard part done: tons of experience and a really solid skill set.
A couple ideas to help bridge that gap into artist/band club & festival runs:
Pick the lane you most want to be known for on tours (MON/RF/audio chief/etc.) and build a short “touring intro” around that – 2–3 sentences you can send to TMs/PMs.
Put together a simple one-pager or webpage with your credits, photos, contact info, and where you’re based, and make it clear you’re available for EU/Netherlands runs.
Start using the club & festival shows you’re already on as networking time: introduce yourself to visiting TMs/PMs and ask, “If you ever need an EU sub or extra set of hands, what’s the best way to stay on your radar?”
Share a few clips on socials that show you problem-solving on gigs (RF, monitors, tech directing) and tag venues/bands when it makes sense.
If you want to drop your IG or website here, some of us can take a look and give more specific suggestions.
