1st fly date advice

Hey guys! I

've been doing audio and A/V in a full time professional capacity for just over a year, due to availability constraints I've been sticking with one production company for now, and they asked me to fly across the country for a week for work, basically I'll be shuffling breakout rooms for a probably 10k attendance conference (with alot of live music)

1 guy told me to buy a hammock, 1 guy told me to shadow the SE when he tunes, and I've heard sleep when you can and be available. What advice do you have for me? Buying, practical, or otherwise, I may buy a coffee put when I get out there, and all my kit is on a tractor trailer for the week so I'm feeling kinda naked.

Thanks,

Jesse

I second everything Erik R said. I will add EAT when you can. It is easy to let a whole day go by and not make time to eat. We all know what happens when we are malnourished. I have been known to bring with me on certain gigs "Emergency Steaks" that I grill up at home and just throw in a zip lock baggy. Don't think you are above any task. I work for Clair Global in Nashville. When Matt Clair comes down for a visit/check-in, he is also taking out the trash and filling up the coffee pot. I mix FOH for a big national act, I also pull feeder, fly PA and "kinda help" load trucks on my tour.
